Continuing with my current obsession, I have a burning J. Crew question! What’s the deal with their Net-A-Porter site? Two items I’ve had my eye on are featured on both sites under different names.

Exhibit A: this green leather shirt. For Net-A-Porter, it’s called the “Casey leather and merino wool top”, but on the J. Crew site, it’s the “Moto leather tee”. Both are $495, which is just low enough to sound almost attainable, until I realize that it’s a shirt. It’s just a shirt. Plus I paid 60 Euro for a suspiciously similar shirt at COS last summer.

Exhibit B: The crinoline trench coat. In the spendy land of Net-A-Porter, it’s known as the Ethel cotton-twill trench coat, and costs $400. The J. Crew site lists it as the Encore trench, for $398. Why the $2 difference??
